Chronicling THE FIRE

November 1, 2009

A Spiritual FIREI’m talking about THE FIRE that is GOD’S WORD. I almost didn’t make it to church today — or so I thought, but God had other plans. Bigger Plans. My early awake lead me straight into family BIBLE READING and PRAYER with the fam’, then I made a b-line for my personal website, Twitter and FaceBook where I thought I’d get on FIRE about God’s Word and lead the masses that would to jam a little CHRISTIAN HIP HOP with me (Mr. Pointman jammed in the background of my website). The minute I took a stand for God, my TWITTER Follow Count fell a few members shy. “Oh My!” I thought, “If they didn’t love the LORD, I’m glad they’re gone”. At this time the fam’ and I decided to leave the crib and get on our way to ‘the House of the Lord’. As I made my way to the front door, I got a burning feeling in my stomach. I fell to my knees and grabbed the trash can – I hadn’t bad beakfast, and was curious as to what this sensation was. Perplexed I looked up to Dedric (my high school sweetheart) and he said, “Oh it’s just the devil. He’s mad because you’re praising God online this morning – let’s go to church”. Right on! said to myself and my attitude followed suit. I sprung to my feet and got in the car.

Riding shotgun, we were on 820 when the burning feeling came up again. We were within minutes of arriving at the church. I immediately started praying. Finally we arrive, we walked into the doors swiftly and parked it on the front row. “Aw man”, I thought to myself, “we missed the sermon? These folks are well passed the meal and into desert.” It appeared the pastor was taking his seat but nooooooo we seemed to have arrived in a nick of time…

The praises of God were in progress and adequately filled the room.
The masses were jamming as Brandon gave praise through the drum sets boom!
The Spirit of God did loom — my spirit and soul so willingly conspired
then Pastor Trey started talking about “Walking Through The Fire”.
He was talking about Meshack, Shadrach, and Abed-Nego,
when suddenly my stomach ceased to hurt & I was like, “Woah!
‘You mean to tell me, I’m not sick no mo’?”
Oh no! Any sickness that was – had gone.
The River Of Life is perched on a higher throne.
There’s no place for sickness here, so we sent it on the roam. :)

The fam’ and I fell right in line with praising God. After a few more orthodoxed moments of worship, there was the alter call, the tithes & offering call and slightly before the benediciton, there was my ‘testimony call’ as I had to tell of the goodness. I was excited to put on front street what I thought was going to be a henderence this morning, (the burning in my belly). After fellowshipping with the Saints it was clear to me that the burning in my stomach was actually “a calling for me to get to the House of the Lord and bond at THE SOURCE OF THE FIRE”. I’m glad I heeded spoken wisdom and followed my gut. I have no idea what the Lord has in store for me from this day forth, but you better believe it’s ‘some FIRE’ and I’ll stay anchored at The RIVER OF LIFE Christian Ministries while fanning the spiritual flames and enjoying my inheritance in Jesus’ name. How could I not chroniclize the heat of the first Sunday in November? It was HOT!

Where’s your fire?
You don’t have to walk through it alone, Daniel, Phillippians, and II Corinthians can help you. Don’t sweat it.

FYI: I want to send a big shout out to MARCELLA for keeping me straight on the verses that facilitated todays Sermon. You ROCK! – Spiritually. lol!

Chronicling YOUTH

October 25,2009
Positive Radical Youth

Fort Worth, TX –
Today I truly received a “HOLY HOOK UP” just by stopping by and worshipping with The River Of Life Christian Ministries family. It was youth day and while we had a visiting Elder come in and feed us manna from on Heaven, Elder Ware’s WORD FROM GOD ["The Inheritance of Christ" Galations 1:12] seemed to be the perfect foundation for Kelo, Trey’Von Webster and Brandon Mims to draw from and expound on. Yes! It was youth day and I decided to congregate with the future, so I skipped the sanctuary meal and went straight for the youthful snacking. Snacking? Hardly. At one point during Trey’Vons teachings (to the 10 year old and under class), I felt as if he were speaking directly to me.  How could this be? I thought this was ‘the childrens church’ and I was just a guest.  Further review, (well, me looking over his shoulder) revealed that Trey’Von was reading from a teachers manual, (like a Sunday school lesson planner) and that he was not speaking directly to me at all – but GOD was. I heard him through Trey’Vons adolescent teachings. Now that I think about it, I ended up migrating to the youth fellowship service because of Brandon Mims. I saw Brandon with the word in his hand as he rounded up the youth to feed them ‘the adolescent word’ in the rear of the building. Initially, I was curious about their service and was just shadow spectating. On my way back to the sanctuary Brandon said, “You’re not fellowshipping with the youth today Sis. Monja?” and well, how do you say “NO” to the kids when their only interest is bettering the soul? You don’t, thus I enjoyed childrens church today.

Upon making my way back to the sanctuary (where folks my age were congregating), I realized where the youth of RIVER OF LIFE Christian Ministries got their BIG SPIRITS from. The sanctuary was on fire and Elder Ware was the messenger at hand. The children wrapped up their youth service just in time to get Trey’Von and Kelo on electric guitars and Brandon on drums (relieving guest Jerrick Ware of his beat keeping duties, as he backed up his dad Elder Ware’s sermon) to help close the sanctuarys praise and worship service. Lead by God, wise and talented: these are words I would use to describe the ROLIFE Youth Department.

I would also like to post a spiritual shout out to Bro. Gabriel who worked the keyboard like he had old time religion when I’m certain he’s not even able to buy Jesus juice (wine) legally. Visiting ROLIFE reminds you real quick that ‘age is nothing but a number’. Bro. Gabriel has the sweetest lead voice that put me in a Marvin Gaye mind frame easily. Bro. Gabriel is a new member and ROLIFE is being blessed because of his presence. All praises to God. The club life has nothing on ROLIFE get togethers: They jam hard, praise the Lord, and shine their lights brightly all day everyday. What did you do this Sunday? F.Y.I.—We’ll be doing it again Wednesday night and next Sunday. We’d love for you to stop by, praise God with us, and get your spiritual lift on. It goes down in The Lords House. I’ll see you there.
