I’m talking about THE FIRE that is GOD’S WORD. I almost didn’t make it to church today — or so I thought, but God had other plans. Bigger Plans. My early awake lead me straight into family BIBLE READING and PRAYER with the fam’, then I made a b-line for my personal website, Twitter and FaceBook where I thought I’d get on FIRE about God’s Word and lead the masses that would to jam a little CHRISTIAN HIP HOP with me (Mr. Pointman jammed in the background of my website). The minute I took a stand for God, my TWITTER Follow Count fell a few members shy. “Oh My!” I thought, “If they didn’t love the LORD, I’m glad they’re gone”. At this time the fam’ and I decided to leave the crib and get on our way to ‘the House of the Lord’. As I made my way to the front door, I got a burning feeling in my stomach. I fell to my knees and grabbed the trash can – I hadn’t bad beakfast, and was curious as to what this sensation was. Perplexed I looked up to Dedric (my high school sweetheart) and he said, “Oh it’s just the devil. He’s mad because you’re praising God online this morning – let’s go to church”. Right on! said to myself and my attitude followed suit. I sprung to my feet and got in the car.
Riding shotgun, we were on 820 when the burning feeling came up again. We were within minutes of arriving at the church. I immediately started praying. Finally we arrive, we walked into the doors swiftly and parked it on the front row. “Aw man”, I thought to myself, “we missed the sermon? These folks are well passed the meal and into desert.” It appeared the pastor was taking his seat but nooooooo we seemed to have arrived in a nick of time…
The praises of God were in progress and adequately filled the room.
The masses were jamming as Brandon gave praise through the drum sets boom!
The Spirit of God did loom — my spirit and soul so willingly conspired
then Pastor Trey started talking about “Walking Through The Fire”.
He was talking about Meshack, Shadrach, and Abed-Nego,
when suddenly my stomach ceased to hurt & I was like, “Woah!
‘You mean to tell me, I’m not sick no mo’?”
Oh no! Any sickness that was – had gone.
The River Of Life is perched on a higher throne.
There’s no place for sickness here, so we sent it on the roam.
The fam’ and I fell right in line with praising God. After a few more orthodoxed moments of worship, there was the alter call, the tithes & offering call and slightly before the benediciton, there was my ‘testimony call’ as I had to tell of the goodness. I was excited to put on front street what I thought was going to be a henderence this morning, (the burning in my belly). After fellowshipping with the Saints it was clear to me that the burning in my stomach was actually “a calling for me to get to the House of the Lord and bond at THE SOURCE OF THE FIRE”. I’m glad I heeded spoken wisdom and followed my gut. I have no idea what the Lord has in store for me from this day forth, but you better believe it’s ‘some FIRE’ and I’ll stay anchored at The RIVER OF LIFE Christian Ministries while fanning the spiritual flames and enjoying my inheritance in Jesus’ name. How could I not chroniclize the heat of the first Sunday in November? It was HOT!
Where’s your fire?
You don’t have to walk through it alone, Daniel, Phillippians, and II Corinthians can help you. Don’t sweat it.
FYI: I want to send a big shout out to MARCELLA for keeping me straight on the verses that facilitated todays Sermon. You ROCK! – Spiritually. lol!
